I am pleased that this video finally released. This was one of my favorite songs on the album and for a while I was worried that Mr. West would never put it out. For those who didn’t know, “Coldest Winter” is about the unexpected death of his mother in 2007 and the ending of his engagement to Alexis Phifer.

So whether you like 808’s or not, you have to appreciate the emotion that this song evokes.
